In huge garden of 33,000 square meters, Chikurin-in Gunpoen is rich and stylish main building and an urban style modern hotel-like annex. Chikurin-in is originally called Tsubakiyama Temple and in old days this temple used to accomodate Buddist monk practicing asceticism in the mountains. Now it is a common inn for all sorts of tourists. Gumpoen is an excursion type of garden and is said to be remade by Rikyu, a master of the tea ceremony. Guests may enjoy the open-air hot-springs bath with the magnificent view of 300-year-old zelkova tree.3 minutes by ropeway from Kintetsu Yoshino Station to Yoshinoyama ropeway Station and 20 minutes walk. 10 minutes by taxi from Kintetsu Yoshino Station.
