The long downhill course from the top of Mt. Zao leads to this hotel. Japanese-style rooms of the South Building command a panoramic view of the mountains. Japanese-style rooms furnished with beds are available. The restaurants serve Japanese dishes crafted with seasonal local ingredients. Featuring a large communal bath using water from a natural hot spring and consisting of glassed-in indoor baths and an open-air bath. There are also private baths modeled after a mountain cottage. There is a gallery hall which is decorated with modern paintings that overlooks the Asahi and Ide mountain range and Mt. Gassan. Located 30 mins. from Yamagata Station by car, or 45 mins. by bus to the nearest bus stop. 10 mins. on foot from the bus stop.
